This page explains what Dating App Report collects when you use the site, what we do with it, and how to ask us to delete it.
01What we collect
We may collect the following to run the site and keep it working:
Access logs
IP address, browser, time of visit, pages viewed
Device
Device type, operating system, screen size
Cookies
What each one does is listed in section 2
Reviews you post, and votes
If you post a review, we store the display name you typed, the review text, and the star rating — and once approved, the name, text, and rating are published on the app's page. We also store a scrambled version (a hash) of your IP address and browser signature to stop spam; the hash cannot be turned back into your address. If you press a vote or "helpful" button, we store the vote with the same kind of hash so one person cannot vote twice.
We do not collect your name or address unless you type it into the contact form yourself.
02Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to see which pages get read. It uses cookies to collect usage data. That data does not identify you by name.
We also use Microsoft Clarity. It records how pages are used — scrolling, mouse movement, taps and clicks — and plays that back to us as heat maps and session recordings, so we can see which parts get read and which get skipped. Anything you type into a form is masked before it reaches the recording. Microsoft explains what it does with this data in its own privacy statement: Microsoft Privacy Statement.
The cookies this site sets itself, and what each one is for:
- Security and forms — one cookie protects the forms against forgery, and one blocks addresses that probe the site for holes.
- Votes — when you vote or mark a review helpful, a cookie with a random ID stops the same person voting twice. It carries nothing about who you are.
- Ad display — on pages with a sign-up link, a cookie remembers which version of the ad box you were shown, so it stays the same on your next visit.
When you follow a link to a dating app, this site does not set a tracking cookie on the way out — but the company you land on usually sets its own, on its own site, and that is how it knows the sign-up came from here. That is how we get paid.
For how Google handles that data, see Google's page:How Google uses data when you use its partners' sites or apps
03Sharing with others
We do not sell what we collect, and we do not hand it to anyone else to use for their own purposes. Three exceptions:
- The companies that run the site for us see what they need in order to run it. Google Analytics is one (section 2 says what it gets), and what you type into the contact form travels through Cloudflare, the company that delivers our email, on its way to us.
- We hand things over where the law requires it, or where someone's life or property is at risk.
- We share it when you ask us to.
04Your rights
Some US states, including California, give you the right to know what a site holds about you, to correct it, and to have it deleted. You can use those rights here regardless of which state you live in:
- Ask through the contact form what we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it. We will answer within 45 days.
- We do not sell your personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of. If that ever changes, we will add an opt-out here first.
- We will not treat you differently for using these rights.
This site is for adults. It is not aimed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
