What this site does

We go through dating app reviews one at a time, sort them by what they're about, and put the counts on one page per app. The reviews come from Google Play, the App Store, and readers who post them here.

Why this exists

Most people pick a dating app from its star rating. A star rating doesn't tell you how many people said they were charged twice, how many said the profiles were fake, or how many said nobody ever replied.

We count those separately, out of the public reviews, and show each count next to the number of reviews it came from.

How we work

We count; we don't rate

Every number here is a count of what reviewers wrote. We don't add an opinion score on top.

We show what was counted

Each figure says what it counted and how many reviews it came from.

We recount on a schedule

We pull new reviews regularly and count again.

Some apps pay us

Some links to apps are affiliate links. If you sign up through one, we may be paid. That payment doesn't change the counts.

How we count

AWhat goes into a number

We pull the reviews from Google Play and the App Store, set aside the ones with no text in them, and sort the rest by what they're about. You can also post your own review on any app page, and vote on who uses the app; posted reviews appear next to the store reviews once we've looked at them. Each figure on an app page says how many reviews it came from and which months those cover.

How we count, in detail

Before you rely on these numbers

  • !The counts are counts of what reviewers wrote. They are not a finding that an app or a company did anything unlawful.
  • !We are not liable for loss arising from your use of this site.
  • !Deciding whether to use an app is your call.
